The Surroundings

The good location of the town of Montson�s offers the possibility to do many and different excursions without the necessity of travelling by car.

Artesa de Segre, only three kilometres away from Montson�s, is a point of reference of the region. There, visitors can enjoy the typical gastronomy of the zone in one of the restaurants that are on the streets made of stone of Artesa.

Another journey that is highly recommended is is closed to Foradada, just one kilometre and a half from Montson�s. As a reward for the walk, excursionists can enjoy a refreshing bath in the swimming pools of the municipality, or end the day with exercise in the playing field.

During February, the people of Montson�s organize a little excursion to the Tunnel of Montclar. There, the visitor can get into the medieval times even more, visiting the Castle of Montclar, which gives its name to the town. It is one of the most antique castles of the zone; a firm fortress with a wavering flag on top of the tower that, as in the castle of Montson�s, indicates that the castle is inhabited.
